Crack-in-Rock Trail Waterfall

I hiked Crack in Rock Trail with my two boys and my mom in January. This 1.5 mile loop trail is family friendly and has some really beautiful sights including Lee Creek, a waterfall, a big crevasse to explore, huge boulders, a variety of plantlife, bluffs, an old cemetary in the woods, etc.

My 6 and 3 year old did really well on this trail. There are some tall bluffs, and the crack in the rock is deep, but the bluffs are plenty of distance from the main trail and you can easily navigate the trail without going too close to the crack.

We were losing daylight so we didn’t have enough time to explore below the crack in the rock, but it looked really interesting so we’ll definitely be returning another time! We did however explore the area around the waterfall. Getting down there with the kids was a bit of a challenge, but we took it really slow and cautious and the payoff was lots of playtime in the creek gulch which was absolutely beautiful!
